CELLTOWER WORKER FALLS 110 FEET AND LIVES
By Jane Celltower
There have been many celltower falls that have caused a tower worker's death. Expert's claim working on celltowers is one of the most dangerous jobs a person can have. It is always amazing when an accident occurs that should cause death to those involved, yet the person remains alive and well. Such is the example of a celltower worker falling 110 ft., and remains alive today. The following testimony reported by Bob Gass Ministries, goes beyond common sense and reasoning, but remains a testiment of fact verses fate, when indeed all things are in God's sovereign control.
"God is…a very present help in trouble.” Ps 46:1
Randy Reid, a thirty-four-year-old construction worker, was welding on top of a nearly completed water tower outside Chicago. According to writer Melissa Ramsdell, Reid unhooked his safely gear to reach for some pipes when a metal cage slipped and bumped the scaffolding on which he stood. It tipped, and Reid lost his balance. He fell 110 feet landing face down on a pile of dirt, just missing rocks and construction debris. A fellow worker called 911. When paramedics arrived they found Reid conscious, moving, and complaining of a sore back. Apparently the fall didn’t cost Reid his sense of humor. As paramedics carried him on a backboard to the ambulance, Reid had one request: “Don’t drop me.” (Doctors later said Reid came away from the accident with just a bruised leg.)
Sometimes we resemble Randy Reid. God protects us from harm in a 110-foot fall, yet we are not willing to trust Him to get us over the next two-foot hurdle. Being sinful, we fail. Being prone to sickness, we hurt. Being mortal, we die. Pressure wears on us. Anxiety gives us ulcers. People intimidate us. Criticism offends us. Disease scares us. Death haunts us. What’s the answer? “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Note the words “very present.” When we hit lifes rough spots our tendency is to feel abandoned, yet the opposite is true. At that very moment we are more than ever the object of His love and concern. Yes, even when our vision is blurred, our thinking foggy, our faith fleeting, and we look up and can’t see Him clearly - He is “very present.”
JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU! - JOHN 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him." - John 3:16-17
God loves you with an ever lasting, unconditional love, and He desires to bring you restoration, favor, joy, peace, hope, and happiness. Accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and friend is the most important decision you will ever make. Salvation is God's free gift to all who confess their sin's and surrender their life to Jesus Christ - Ephesians 2:8, Romans 6:23.
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved - Acts 4:12. If you have had a difficult lifetime, God wants to give you a better life. "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me" - Psalm 28:10. God's love is the light that shines in the darkness, for He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redeption, the forgiveness of sins - Col 1:13-14. Jesus states in John 3:7, "You must be born again."
Being born again simply means to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and His free gift of salvation's plan. You cannot earn by works or buy salvation, for it is a free gift of grace, mercy, and love from our heavenly Father - Ephesians 2:8.
WE HAVE ALL SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD
We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God - Romans 3:23.
We all deserve to die and go to Hell, but God has a different plan. He desires to give you a life filled with hope and a future - Jeremiah 29:11. Be assured, no matter what you have done in the past you can be forgiven and are accepted by your Father, God. If you feel you have gone too far into the depths of sin just remember this; God does not compare our sin with other people. In comparison to God's Holiness we "all" fall short. Listen to what the Bible says concerning humanities sin, "All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away" - Isaiah 64:6.
Satan desires to sift you like wheat - Luke 22:31. He roams through the earth going back and forth in it, always seeking whom he can destroy - Job 1:7. But the Son of God came to destroy the devil's work - 1st John 3:8. God loved us all so much, He gave His only begotten son Jesus, to die on Calvary's cross - John 3:16. Jesus became our substitute by the shedding of His blood, which paid sins price for humanities redemption. God made Him (Jesus), who had no sin, to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God - 2nd Corinthians 5:21.
You may ask, "Why did Jesus have to shed His blood and die for our sins to be forgiven?" The Bible says in Leviticus 17:11, "For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes attonement for ones life." Hebrews 9:22, ..."without the shedding of blood there is not forgiveness." Christ's shed blood, death, and resurrection provides us the free gift of salvation and eternal life - Romans 6:23. Because of His unconditional, everlasting love, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us - Romans 10:13. We are set free by the blood of the lamb of sacrifice, Jesus Christ!
HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR FREE GIFT OF SALVATION
To receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior you repent of your sins - Acts 17:30. Believe in His name, death, and resurrection, and by faith receive Him as your Lord and Savior. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved - Romans 10:13. To all who receive Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God - John 1:12. Then you will live your life according to His word, the Holy Bible. There will be a change within your spirit, your walk, and your talk. You will strive to live your life as an example of God's love. For God wants us to be Holy, as He Is Holy.
I PETER 1:13-16, "Therefore, gird your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (14) As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, (15) but like the Holy One who called you, be Holy yourselves also in all your behavior; (16) because it is written, "You Shall Be Holy, For I Am Holy."
A PRAYER OF SALVAION
I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was my sin substitue when He died on the Cross of Calvary. I believe His shed blood, death, and resurrection were for me. I ask Him to forgive me of my sins, and I receive Him as my Lord and Savior.
I surrender my heart and life to you God, and seek to do your will. I ask these things in Jesus Christ's name.
CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD !
We who are born again, walk in the precepts of God's Holy Word. What does that mean? Simply to get to know God according to His word, and act in love according to His actions. To further our walk with Christ we read His word of instruction , the Holy Bible, which is living and active - Hebrews 4:12. You will also want to find a Bible believing local church where you can grow in faith and worship Him. Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the day approaching - Hebrews 10:24-25. "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." - Matthew 18:20. Another postive step towards living in the fullness of God and His word, is to be Baptized in water (Acts 2:41; 8:38; 16:33).
And remember...no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him - 1st Corinthians 2:9.
GOD HAS MORE PROMISES THAN WE HAVE PROBLEMS!
One of the most important task as Christians will be to witness and tell everyone who will listen, that Jesus Christ is the only answer to the sin and destructive patterns and problems that plague humanity. God's light is more powerful than the deepest darkness. We can cast all our anxiety on Him, because He cares for us - 1st Peter 5:7.
THE LORD IS WITH YOU ALWAYS -
Lamentations 3:22-25, "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassion's never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, 'The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait on Him.' The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him."
Proverbs 4:11-13, "I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps are not hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well; for it is your life."
Psalm 121:12, "My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of the Heaven and Earth."
Psalm 121:7-8, "The Lord will keep you from harm - He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."
Psalm 144:2, "He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliever, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me."
Psalm 145:18, "The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth."
